Good evening.
Have you had a chance to go sightseeing at any Japanese temples or shrines yet?
Since I was born and raised in Japan, shrines and temples are a natural part of my life. In fact, I make it a point to visit a shrine almost every single month!
As a regular visitor, let me share a couple of travel tips for you.
At most places, you can throw a coin into a designated box to make a wish to the deities. While foreign coins are technically okay, it's highly recommended to exchange your money beforehand and use Japanese yen. 🙆♀️
Furthermore, at some shrines, you can actually participate in a special, formal wishing ritual by paying a fee ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands of yen. If you are interested in experiencing a traditional and solemn Japanese ritual, I highly recommend giving it a try!
When we meet, please tell me all about the places you’ve explored so far! 💨
