Recently, I’ve been watching stories about Japan during and after the war, so I became curious and looked up the oldest restaurant in Japan.
I found out that there’s a soba restaurant in Kyoto that has been operating since 1465 — for 561 years!
Apparently, Tokyo has the oldest tempura restaurant in Japan, and Osaka has the oldest oden restaurant as well.
Japan is said to have more long-lasting companies than anywhere else in the world.
It made me feel grateful to the people who built and protected this history, and I want to cherish and preserve it too ☺️
